DeAndre' graduated from the College of the Mainland in 2015 with his Associate of Applied Science in Process Technology
For over a decade, DeAndre' initiated the Sting-to-Sting Scholarship at 19, he empowers students to pursue education at prestigious institutions.
DeAndre' served as the president of Minority Men for Excellence while obtaining his associate's degree at the College of the Mainland. MM4E's mission is to develop leaders, and promote brotherhood and academic excellence while providing service and advocacy for our communities The program is designed to improve the recruitment and retention of minorities at COM.
DeAndre' was appointed to the Texas City Housing Authority in 2021 where he was elected as Vice-Chairman. He became the youngest person appointed commissioner to the board. The Texas City Housing Authority is a non-profit/governmental agency that is federally funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Housing Authority provides Section 8 Vouchers and Public Housing to residents who may need assistance.
DeAndre' won his race in 2022 for Commissioner of District One. Where he represents the west side of Texas City. He continues to advocate for the community, implement new programs, and support organizations within his district to help his community.
DeAndre' has sponsored $7.5K in grant funding using his commissioner grant. This went towards non-profit organizations in District 1 that provide different resources for residents living in his district.
DeAndre' has implemented a new tutoring program for his constituents in District One. He saw a need where students may benefit from additional assistance with their academics and introduced a free service for residents to use.
DeAndre' was nominated under the 40 under 40 Honoree from the Galveston Daily News. He is quoted saying that his biggest mentor is his mother "I consider my mother to be my greatest mentor because she instilled in me to grow and be the best man I could be"
DeAndre' is a major supporter of Little League Sports in District One such as the Mainland Tigers to which he has contributed $2,500 towards their initiatives.
Commissioner Knoxson is a strong supporter of community engagement in which he showed by spearheading the renovation of the Park Avenue Community Center in 2023.
